Your credit or debit card will be billed in two installments. You settle the booking expenses (time, booking fee, and damage cover) at the time of booking your trip. The driving costs (distance and tolls) are periodically reviewed and may be applied to your payment method either during or after your journey.
Before you can book a trip, you'll need to enter the details of a valid Visa or Mastercard. We don't accept Amex or cash payments.
Upon booking a trip, the expenses are itemized into upfront hire costs and subsequent driving costs.
Upon reviewing the cost and confirming your booking, your card will be charged the 'Due now' amount,. This covers the following:
Your driving costs are:
Typically, the distance for most trips will be billed the night following trip completion, although occasionally it may take up to a week for the billing process to be completed. In cases where you have driving credit, an account balance, or a deposit (applicable to first-time trips), we will first deduct the payment from these sources and only charge the remaining balance to your card.
For trips exceeding 550km, there might be a request to settle the distance cost before the trip concludes. You will be notified if this is applicable. Further details on progressive payments for extended trips can be found in our information.
Access your current estimated distance 24 hours after the trip commencement by navigating to Trips and reviewing the Trip cost summary for your ongoing booking. If push notifications are enabled, you'll receive periodic updates. It's important to note that the distance is not updated in real time; a note below the Driving costs section indicates the last update time.
The distance charge encompasses fuel, and if there are pending refunds, the distance will only be billed once they have been processed. Refer to the guidelines on submitting a receipt for reimbursement.
Tolls are invoiced promptly upon being charged to us or the car's owner, typically within 48 hours. In instances of Key Handover trips or delayed toll information from providers, billing may extend up to a month after, resulting in toll charges in the subsequent month following your trip.
If you cancel before your trip starts, then any cancellation fees will be deducted from the pre-payment.
Should you return the car ahead of schedule, there could be charges for 'unused time'; please refer to the 'Cancellation policy and cancelled time or unused time charges' for details.
In the event of trip extension, an extension fee will be applied, along with the additional cost for the extended time.
To access a detailed breakdown of your trip charge, navigate to the Trips tab on the website or app and choose the relevant trip.
In the case of subsequent bookings, these accessible funds will initially cover the upfront payment, with any remaining balance charged to your card. If additional charges are incurred shortly after the funds become available, such as membership plan fees (if applicable) or delayed toll charges, they will also be covered.
If there are no further charges, the remaining funds will be automatically refunded within a few days. You have the option to expedite this process by initiating a withdrawal through the website or the app.
There's a possibility of an initial higher upfront payment than the ultimate trip cost, owing to factors like the deposit on your initial booking, fuel refunds, driving credit, or trip cancellations. Once the trip cost is determined, the surplus funds will be designated as 'available' in your account.
Owners should never request direct payments to their accounts. If an owner solicits any payment directly, refrain from responding and promptly email us to report the incident.
