An International Driving Permit is not required for membership, provided that your complete unrestricted driver's license from your home country, along with its English translation, contains clear details. If additional information is necessary for processing your application, we will contact you accordingly.
When you're driving in Australia, remember:
- Drive on the left side of the road
- Park on the left side of the road – you'll get a fine if you park against the direction of traffic
- Always check the parking signs carefully before you leave the car – you'll be responsible if you leave the car in a place and it gets a fine (no matter how long after you leave it)
- Speed limits are strictly enforced in Australia. Some roads and streets don't have speed limit signs, but speed limits still apply. Slow down, drive safely and avoid heavy fines.
- Mobile phone use while driving is illegal and also strictly enforced
- When traveling in rural areas, be mindful of wildlife on the roads, particularly kangaroos. It's advisable to refrain from driving during dawn and dusk if feasible, and exercise caution while driving at all times.
